Capt. Ben Overmars

Ben Overmars grew up on the Puget Sound and developed a deep love and appreciation for fishing. During his teenage years, he spent time in Sitka, AK working at a fishing lodge until he was old enough to make a year-round living charterboat deckhanding and commercial crabbing out of Westport, WA. Ben eventually left commercial crabbing to pursue salmon and steelhead guiding in 2017 in his original Clackacraft driftboat.  In 2019, Ben obtained his 100T Masters captains license after spending more than half his life operating all types of vessels. Ben now owns a variety of fishing platforms including a 20' Willie Jetsled, an 18' Clackamax driftboat, and a 3-man Flycraft raft to comfortably target salmon and steelhead in any conditions. From April through September, you'll find Ben operating the 43' Delta charterboat, the Gold Rush out of Deep Sea Charters in Westport, WA.
